10-day Safari – Western Uganda

Our 14-day trip brings you the highlights of Uganda: where the savannah meets the rainforest. During this trip it is possible to see the big 5 and gorillas and chimps! Animals you might see include: lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, rhino, giraffe, hippo, crocodile and up to 15 primate species (including gorillas and chimps).

This trip specifically includes the most important and well-known National Parks of Uganda: Murchison Falls National Park, Kibale Forest National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park, Bwindi National Park, Lake Bunyonyi and Lake Mburo National Park.

Day 2 2026 Entebbe Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

 

3 hrs approximately.

Take canoe trip in Mabamba Swamp to search for the elusive Shoebill Stork.

Mabamba Swamp is a large and accessible wetland on the shores of Lake Victoria. This is one of the best places to see the rare and special Shoebill Stork.

We will drive to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary after Mabamba. This is the only place in Uganda where you can see the white Rhinos in the wild.

Day 3 2026  Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary  Murchison Falls National Park

 

3 hours Approximately

Morning breakfast and then head out for the Rhino bush walk. This gives us an opportunity to walk in close proximity to the Rhinos and watch them graze. Later we drive to Murchison Falls and we visit the top of the Falls. Game drive in the afternoon.

Murchison Falls is one of the most beautiful National Parks of Uganda. One of the main attractions is the Nile, with the spectacular Murchison Falls, where the whole Nile is forced through a narrow gorge and falls 60 meters. Expect to see elephants, giraffes, lions, hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes and maybe leopards.

Day 4 2026 Murchison Falls National Park Early morning game drive. Afternoon boat ride on the Victoria Nile up to the bottom of the falls.

The boat is the perfect platform to see and photograph many different bird species and animals coming for a drink or a plunge.

Day 5 2026 Murchison Falls National Park – Kibale Forest

 

390 km, 7 hours

 

After breakfast, we drive to Kibale Forest National Park. The journey takes you through the Albertan Escarpment of the western arm of the East African Rift valley with dramatic views, traditional homesteads and scenic views of the mountains of the moon.

Kibale Forest is a spectacular jungle and is best known as Primates Capital of the World. In Kibale Forest live 13 primate species! Including chimps, baboons, black and white colobus, red colobus, grey cheeked mangabey and L’Hoest monkey.

Day 6 2026 Kibale Forest Chimpanzee tracking in the morning or in the afternoon. There is also an option to upgrade this 1-hour tracking to a Chimpanzee Habituation Experience, 4 hours tracking.

Depending on the time of the chimpanzee tracking, we will go for the Bigodi Swamp Walk before or after the chimpanzee tracking. During this walk through the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, you will see many birds and primates.

Day 7 2026 Kibale Forest  Queen Elizabeth National Park

 

160 km, 4 hours

Transfer to the Queen Elizabeth National Park. On our way we pass the equator. Game drive in the afternoon from around 4pm.

Queen Elizabeth National Park is one of the best places in Uganda to see lions. Expect to see elephants, lions, many hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes and maybe leopards.

Day 8 2026 Queen Elizabeth National Park Game drive in the morning. Boat trip on the Kazinga Channel in the afternoon.

The Kazinga Channel is one of the highlights of Uganda and has the highest concentration of hippos.

Day 9 2026 Queen Elizabeth National Park  Ishasha

 

100 km, 3 hours

After breakfast we drive through Queen Elizabeth National Park to the Ishasha sector in the South. Game drive in the afternoon.

Ishasha is famous for its tree climbing lions. The other attraction of Ishasha are the Topis, not found anywhere else in this National Park.

Day 10 2026 Ishasha – Bwindi Impenetrable

 

65 km, 2 hours /

150 km, 5 hours

Early morning game drive in Ishasha. Afterwards we drive to Bwindi Impenetrable. On our way we pass through interesting villages and have some breath -taking views of the mountains.

Bwindi Impenetrable is a unique jungle, with many monkey species. Bwindi is one of the 2 places in the world where you can find Mountain Gorillas!

(The lodge in Bwindi we use and driving time to Bwindi depends on the group of gorillas you will track.)

Day 11 2026 Bwindi Impenetrable Gorilla tracking!!! Early morning departure with your ranger to search for one of the world’s most interesting and endangered animal, the Mountain Gorilla! You will spend one hour with one of our closest relatives. An experience you will never forget. Depends on the group of gorillas you will be tracking

Day 12 2026 Bwindi Impenetrable – Lake Bunyonyi

 

65 km, 2 hours /

150 km, 5 hours

 

In Bwindi it is possible to do one of the optional activities: second gorilla tracking, forest walk, birding walk or a community experience with the exceptional Batwa people.

Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi and visit Kabaya primary school which we support as Kazinga Tours.

Lake Bunyonyi is one of the deepest and most beautiful lakes of Uganda. This crater lake is located at an altitude of 2.000m and is created by multiple volcanic eruptions. Because of the altitude the lake is safe to swim in, as there are no diseases or hippos and crocodiles in the lake.

Day 13 2026 Lake Bunyonyi –Lake Mburo National Park

 

200 km, 4 hours

After breakfast we drive to Lake Mburo National Park. OPTIONAL – Boat trip on the lake in the afternoon. In the evening, we make a night game drive with chances of seeing leopards.

Lake Mburo is one of the 2 National Parks with zebras and the only National Park with impalas in Uganda. There are no elephants and lions, so walking safaris are possible.

Day 14 2026 Lake Mburo – Entebbe

 

220 km, 4,5 hours

Game walk in the morning. This game walk gives you a chance to walk side by side to animals such as Giraffes, Impalas, Waterbucks, Zebras and many more.  Afterwards we drive to Entebbe for the out bound flight.  On our way we make a stopover at the Equator for photos.

Uganda visa information: For visitors traveling to Uganda, it is mandatory to apply for a visa online:

  • We advise you to apply for a visa at least one month before departure
